Curl crush is a term within the natural hair community that describes how someone likes a curl pattern that’s not their own. Natural hair care brand Carol’s Daughter did some research and discovered that most women surveyed experience curl envy, which is why the brand founder Lisa Price created National Curl Crush Day. This day was founded in 2021 and is celebrated every March 16th during Women’s History Month. Ms. Price wants to encourage women with kinky, coily, and curly hair to embrace and love their own hair! Carol’s Daughter ask women to post a new or old picture on social media rockin’ their natural hair and use hashtags #NationalCurlCrushDay and #CurlCrush. People are also encouraged to tag @CarolsDaughter. Below is a photo of me rockin’ my natural hair! I invite you to join Accented Glory in empowering ourselves through self love. We ALL are beautifully and wonderfully made...especially our hair! No look is complete without great accessories! 🎉 I flew out to Texas to celebrate my granddaughter’s first birthday. 🎉 I was a part of Black Owned Business Expo at Hanes Mall in Winston Salem, NC. 🎉I got my first FBA (Filled By Amazon) order! All three items available have been selling very well. Needless to say, I’ve been very busy creating and replenishing inventory! Luckily The Hubs was available and willing to assist in manufacturing designs. I truly enjoyed my time in Texas celebrating GamGam baby's first trip around the Sun. She's my new WHY. I do all I do with and through Accented Glory to create a legacy for my children and grandchildren. I'm simply creating a foundation for them to build upon. I Am Black History and celebrate every day. My friends Diane and Pamela at Coils To Locs have launched an online wig store! The sister owners and I connected almost 10 years ago via the natural hair community. They have been one of my A1’s Since Day1. We been going hard for each other with support and encouragement over the years. It’s hard to believe we’ve never met each other in person! However, it feels like we been knowing each other forever. This is a great example of why I’m always emphasizing to my creative women entrepreneurs community on Facebook the importance of creating content that connects. When you speak “your people’s” language, they will FIND YOU! My first encounter with Diane and Pamela was me being a guest on their podcast Natural Haircare News. They found me online through my content and resonated with my brand. They both have been loyal customers that are now collaborators! My necklaces are featured around the neck of the wig heads on their online shop. My Cowrie Shell Choker is the primary featured necklace. Be sure to check out Coils To Locs e-commerce site and support! No look is complete without great accessories! Tonya - Visionary Designer |
